An update from the committee following the latest government announcements.

Dear Club Members.

We were delighted to hear in the latest government announcement that a return to hockey is expected at the end of March and whilst England Hockey have made the following statement - https://www.englandhockey.co.uk/media/news/what-happens-next-with-return-to-play - we still await further details and guidance from them that will hopefully follow soon.

In the meantime, the Committee have been working around various options:

- Training

- Intra club matches

- Local friendlies

- Return to League Hockey

- Possibilities for Summer Hockey (Summer Leagues etc.)

We are hopeful that training can start up from the 29th March with an eye to extending the current season to late April, possibly early May.

As well as waiting on further info from England Hockey, we await to hear from the leagues (National, East, London & Kent) as to each of their decisions about trying to achieve a half season (play every opposition once) following the guidance from EH. One of the key sticking points here is whether car-sharing is allowed when travelling to matches, which EH are pressing the government for a decision on.

We thank you all for your continued patience and we will revert with our return to play plans ASAP.

In the meanwhile, please stay safe and we look forward to seeing you back on the pitch soon!

Any questions then please don’t hesitate to contact Michael Bluett or your Team Captains.

All the best,

The Committee.
