Last week many of the team were on a learning journey at training, wondering if the moon was moving fast or the clouds were moving slowly, and despite suggestions that would baffle Einstein it was eventually established that clouds are moving at a sedate 15kmph whereas the moon moves at over 2000kmph. Thus, fully tooled up we proceeded to reflect those differentially speeds in many of our running drills. Some players, more than others, failing to realise that perhaps making back passes to our more mature members at the speed of light will only result in them having to retrieve the ball from the sidelines.

As we grow as a team, we value a variety of coaches managing us from the sideline, welcoming new coach Jen to the sidelines for her first game. Her competitive nature ensured that there would be no slacking and plenty of encouragement to take players on. Having missed a game, Kat was keen to retain her top goal scorer status and prodded home within the first 15 minutes, obviously finishing the move on the floor for maximum dramatic effect.
With the biggest crowd of the season on the sideline, though lacking the banter I would expect from many of them, we pushed on, creating a myriad of chances that the Cliftonville keeper batted away until Kat again bundled home just before half time.

With debutant Amy showing casing her versatility playing in midfield and Tammy back from her travels, cutting through defenders, we controlled the midfield and created a host of chances without converting. Lou not only bossed her role but dropped the mike several times having made some quality passes to split the pitch. Isla throwing her whole body and stick following an interesting attempt at a reverse sweep and Ro picking up a lovely bruise from a lifted ball. Having worked through all our PCs routines without success it was left to the moon speed people to have the last laugh, Isla scoring from just off the base line with minutes remaining to close out the game at 3 – 0.
